Nesteling in

The leaves are gone, the frost has come in and no matter we do the days are still getting shorter. Here we are Thanksgiving week, one of my favorite holiday. I am not American and yet this celebration has become something I look forward to every year.

It marks the beginning of the holiday season - Thanksgiving is followed by Christmas to then end with New Years' celebration. Parties are many and people are in an upbeat mood.

Thanksgiving though is not about gifts about getting together and taking the time to reconnect, enjoy a good meal, sleep, be thankful for what you have, helps others and nestle in.


At our house Thanksgiving starts by joining our entire neighborhood to watch the marathon go by. Everyone makes something for breakfast and young and old catch up. We then come home and start cooking the turkey. This is the only time of the year where my husband is responsible for the "piece de resistance". His family recipe is the family's favorite. The kitchen gets messy and as the bird gets to the oven we know there will be a long time to wait before we get to sit down around a scrumptious dinner.





So the fire goes on in the fireplace and it time to grab a book and take the time. As I travel a lot for business, thanksgiving is all about coffee table books. The bigger the better, something to take my mind away. This year here is the list:
