Happy Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is finally here, no snow or ice so we are lucky. This morning we went to the race, and watch the girls run as a team, over 9,000 people showed up raising over $250,000 for charity. For a small Massachusetts town this is really nice.

We can now feel good and give thanks for all the things we have, friend, good food and so much more. Time to set the table and enjoy.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Taking the time to e-browse

I took the week off, time to recharge and re-energize...OK I took the time to do try to do all of the things I never have the time to do: hang the final panel of the curtains I bought at Brimfield in September, read overdue magazines that have been piling up for a while, take a nap etc... My oldest daughter was sick today and the weather was so cold that I did keep the "go out" to a minimum. One of the thing that was not on the program was spending time on the web...Etsy is where I got lost. I also looked for ways to set my table...Here are some of the ideas I like.

Nesteling in

The leaves are gone, the frost has come in and no matter we do the days are still getting shorter. Here we are Thanksgiving week, one of my favorite holiday. I am not American and yet this celebration has become something I look forward to every year.

It marks the beginning of the holiday season - Thanksgiving is followed by Christmas to then end with New Years' celebration. Parties are many and people are in an upbeat mood.

Thanksgiving though is not about gifts about getting together and taking the time to reconnect, enjoy a good meal, sleep, be thankful for what you have, helps others and nestle in.

At our house Thanksgiving starts by joining our entire neighborhood to watch the marathon go by. Everyone makes something for breakfast and young and old catch up. We then come home and start cooking the turkey. This is the only time of the year where my husband is responsible for the "piece de resistance". His family recipe is the family's favorite. The kitchen gets messy and as the bird gets to the oven we know there will be a long time to wait before we get to sit down around a scrumptious dinner.

So the fire goes on in the fireplace and it time to grab a book and take the time. As I travel a lot for business, thanksgiving is all about coffee table books. The bigger the better, something to take my mind away. This year here is the list:
